BIO
Luís Rosa Lopes has a background in art, having finished his 5-year academic degree in Sound & Image, at the UCP's School of Arts, in Porto, Portugal in 2006.
He specialised in Sound Design for Film having produced several sound tracks for short films and sound art compositions.
Within those years he founded one of Porto's primordial VJ collectives, named LEITMOTIF and experimented the visual arts through this channel and Video Art.
Later this evolved into the IKIX project, born in 2011, together with Marta Dias, bringing VJ and Filmmaking into one by capturing realtime fluid lab experiences.
He also worked for Radio Nova (Porto) as a sound designer and from 2010/11 till now, for CTB, a theatre company in Braga, Portugal, where he is sound and video designer for theatre plays; working with stage directors such as Alexej Schipenko, Anna Langhof, Rui Madeira, Toni Cafiero, António Augusto Barros or Manuel Guede Oliva.
In 2014 he founded Atmos Aerial Filming and delved into the drone aerial world.
In 2016 he started Synkronos, a freelance production platform into both the cinema and commercial video.
Also in 2016 he shot his first short film META-SEMIOPTIKA which premiered in several festivals and exhibitions in Portugal, Finland, France, USA and Germany.
Kalliopē and the syntropic path of the Muse (2019), an experimental short film about the realm of the Mouseion, the Temple of the Muses, is his latest short film.
At this time he is currently developing UROBORUS (2023), a documentary about the sacred connection between Man and Cow and ENTELEKHEIA (2022), a short film about the ancient trees that still surround us.
